UK Teenager may be Sony hacker

A 19 year old student was arrested yesterday on suspicion of masterminding a global computer hacking operation from his bedroom.

Ryan Cleary, 19, was arrested by police at his mothers home in Wickford, Essex. He is thought to be a leader of LulzSec, a group claiming responsibility for computer hacking. Including cyber attacks into Britain's Serious Organised Crime Agency, The CIA, Sony and the US Senate.

Cleary allegedly hacked into the companies from behind the closed curtains of his bedroom. The arrest was part of a joint investigation by officers from Scotland Yard's specialist e-crime unit and the FBI. Cleary could eventually face extradition to the US.

Detectives believe Cleary is an integral part of the hackers' group LulzSec which is believed to have initially targeted only gaming firms such as Sony and Nintendo and claimed responsibility for the theft of 77million Sony PlayStation customers' names, addresses, bank details and passwords.

It is believed that emerged Cleary's identity may have been blown by the rival hackers who published his name, address and mobile number on facebook earlier this month.
